On December 17, the book launch of "Love Education Series" compiled and published by the Beijing Changier Education Foundation was held in Beijing Books Building. Zhang Yinjun, director of the expert steering committee, member of the national school AIDS prevention education expert group of the Ministry of Education, and chairwoman of the Beijing Changier Education Foundation, Zhang Huanyu, deputy general manager of the China Press of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Zhang Hongzhen, deputy director of the Publishing and Media Committee of the Central Committee of the China Association for Promoting Democracy, and member of the Communication Committee of the Beijing Changier Education Foundation, Zhang Meimei, chairwoman of the 6th Committee of the Youth Sexual Health Education Branch of the China Sexology Association, and Bai Lu, the author of the series and an expert on sexual psychology and sex education, attended the event.

With the implementation of the newly revised "Law of the People's Republic of China on the Protection of Minors," the "Outline for Children's Development in China (2021-2030)" issued by the State Council, and the "Regulations on the Protection of Minors at Schools" promulgated by the Ministry of Education, sex education has for the first time been officially incorporated into legal provisions and integrated into the basic education system and quality monitoring system. The scientific and professional nature of sex education has become an urgent issue that needs to be addressed.

Prof. Gu Mingyuan, a well-known educator in China, lifetime honorary president of the Beijing Changier Education Foundation, and leader of the APEPCY leading group, personally wrote the preface for the series. He pointed out that sex education is an unavoidable topic in the growth of adolescents, and it is extremely important to their physical and mental health as well as their lifelong health and happiness. Sex education is a systematic project that should run through a child's entire educational journey.

The "Love Education Series" includes "My Body, My Choice: Sexual Enlightenment for Adolescents" and "My Growth, My Responsibility: An Introduction to Sex Education in Adolescence". The content covers various age groups from primary to secondary school, explaining sexual and mental health knowledge from the perspectives of gender, body, safety, interpersonal relationships, aesthetics, etc., guiding minors to learn about themselves, understand life and respect life.

At the book launch, chairwoman Zhang talked about how the Beijing Changier Education Foundation has promoted the professionalization of sex education teachers in schools nationwide through various educational and teaching methods such as publishing collections of teaching cases, demonstration classes and exhibition boards. In addition, the Beijing Changier Education Foundation also organizes and carries out "Ending AIDS Sex Education and Humanities Education Popularization Campaigns"; has produced systematic video course series entitled "AIDS Prevention and Sex Education at Schools" under the guidance of the National Health Commission, Ministry of Education, and Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention. On average, over 300 activities and lectures are conducted annually, benefiting more than 30 million students, parents, and teachers.

After the new book launch ceremony, Bai Lu, the author of the series, delivered a special lecture on "Don't Wait for the Wrong People to Teach Sex Education" and interacted with the audience through a question-and-answer session. Bai Lu expressed the sincere hope that this series of books will become a common reading for children and parents, providing comprehensive health education to children so that they can grow up healthily.
