On July 8-9, 2025, Longhua—this red land that nurtured the combat hero Dong Cunrui—once again witnessed a moving chapter of “passing on love and supporting growth” in the new era. The “Targeted Assistance & Love Donation” event, jointly organized by the Soil and Agricultural and Rural Eco-Environmental Supervision and Technology Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment (Soil Center) and the Beijing Changier Education Foundation, was held in multiple locations across Longhua County. This event not only injected new vitality into local education, but also put into action the profound significance of the Chinese government’s “pairing assistance” policy.

Discussions at the Village Committee
In-depth Field Research
According to the “2025 Targeted Assistance Work Plan” of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the Soil Center and Beijing Changier Education Foundation visited Dadi Village, Quanyangou Village, Yushuying Village, and other locations in Longhua County, conducting on-site research on rural revitalization achievements, signing assistance agreements, and donating schoolbags to village elementary schools, visiting households under poverty monitoring, and donating canes and other materials. Every piece of assistance is a strong support for rural revitalization and a deep expression of care for the people of these old revolutionary areas.
Cunrui Primary School: Love Enters the
Campus
At Cunrui Primary School, located in the
hometown of martyr Dong Cunrui, the Changier Foundation and the Soil Center

During the discussion, all agreed that mental health issues are not only present in cities but also in rural areas; they are not unique to students, but also exist among teachers and parents, and thus deserve great attention. The Changier Foundation stated that in the future, it will explore ways to provide support in mental health education and family education guidance according to the actual needs of schools, helping promote campus harmony and providing more care and assistance for students, teachers, and parents.
Donation Ceremony for Students in Difficulties:
Love Gathers, Gratitude Flows
At the donation ceremony, leaders and guests
from the Soil Center, Changier Foundation, Longhua County Government and
Education System, and representatives of teachers and students gathered
together. With the support of caring enterprises and individuals, they helped
children from struggling families attend school with peace of mind. A student
representative from the recipients spoke emotionally: “Receiving this donation
is also a kind of education—I am grateful to the country, grateful to the Party,
and the love from this assistance will be passed on.” This sentence expressed
the heartfelt feelings of countless recipient families.
After the donation ceremony, President Zhang
Yinjun had a heartfelt conversation with the children.
President Zhang Yinjun was interviewed by Longhua County TV.
President Zhang Yinjun of the Changier Foundation said: “We are not only helpers, but also those who are helped. Every act of assistance is an education in love and a process of self-growth.” The Foundation, with “education of love” as its core philosophy, continues to focus on cultivating and training seed teachers, who bring advanced concepts and professional knowledge back to their local schools, inspiring more teachers to grow and helping countless young people grow up healthy.
Vocational Education, Family Classrooms, and
Comprehensive Care
Jin Weizhong, Principal of Longhua County
Vocational Education Center, said at the discussion: “Compared with students in
regular high schools, vocational school students are more active
psychologically, come from more complex family backgrounds, and need more social
attention and professional guidance.” In response, the Changier Foundation
stated it will continue to strengthen support for mental health education in
vocational schools, providing targeted assistance for students of different
types.
Bai Yaru, Vice Principal of Longhua No. 1 High School, also pointed out: “Most student problems stem from the family. We urgently hope the Changier Foundation can provide family classroom teaching and family education resources.” In response, the Changier Foundation has already developed a series of family education resources, including family classrooms, parent readers, and video courses, to help promote home-school co-education.
The Advantages of the Pairing Assistance Policy Stand Out
This event fully demonstrated the unique advantages of the Chinese government’s “pairing assistance” policy. Through partnerships between central and local units, departmental collaboration, and participation of social organizations, resource sharing, complementary strengths, and precise measures are achieved. Assistance brings not only material support, but also updates in concepts and improvements in capabilities, injecting a continuous stream of vitality into rural revitalization.
Paying Tribute at Dong Cunrui Martyrs’
Cemetery: Remembering Heroes, Continuing the Spirit
During the event, the Soil Center and Changier Foundation paid a special visit to the Dong Cunrui Martyrs’ Cemetery, taking a solemn group photo in front of the statue, and deeply commemorating this national hero who exemplified faith with his life. Everyone expressed their determination to be inspired by Dong Cunrui’s spirit, to do assistance work more thoroughly and carefully, and to let the revolutionary spirit shine even more brightly in the new era.
Changier Foundation’s Ongoing Support for Longhua
Since 2023, the Changier Foundation has continuously carried out assistance activities for students in need in Gangwayaogou Village, Changhua Town, Changhua County, Changgoumen Village in Hanjia Store Township, Xidigou Village, and other locations. A total of 151 students in difficulty have been supported, making the Foundation an indispensable force in the Longhua education system.
A land of heroes, a legacy of love. The Changier Foundation will help build Changier Huts, conduct teacher training in sex education and mental health education, donate Changier educational readers and video courses, continue to protect the dreams of Longhua students, contribute to the development of education in Longhua County, and support students’ healthy growth—using action to write a new era version of the “Dong Cunrui Spirit”!
