Strands of Hair Entrust Affection, Mutual Support and Vigilance
At the ceremony, Liang Xiaomo and Liu Jiaying, compassionate Hair Donation Volunteers from Shunyi District Primary School, donated their long hair, grown over many years. With the gentle snip of the scissors and the falling of the hair, it was more than just a haircut; it was a gift of life. These hair strands will be received by the Chou Ta-Kuan Cultural and Educational Foundation to make wigs, helping young cancer patients who have lost their hair during treatment to have a "Starting Fresh". A strand of hair, a strand of love; mutual help and support. The light in the volunteers' eyes as they received the donation certificate and souvenirs reflected the faith and hope of the motherland's youth.
Connected hearts, affection between both sides of the Strait
At the close of the event, led by Director Wang Haixia of the Shunyi Women and Children's Hospital Office and Teacher Xu Hong, head of the assistance program at the Beijing Children's Health Foundation, youth representatives from both sides of the Strait walked onto the stage and solemnly affixed the Wish Cards, filled with blessings and aspirations, to the backdrop. These small cards carried shared hopes for health, friendship, and the future. The children from Beijing Children's Hospital presented carefully prepared Traditional Chinese Sachets to their Taiwanese friends, who in turn reciprocated with heartfelt gifts. What they exchanged was not just gifts and contact information, but a pure friendship that transcended the Taiwan Strait.
This gathering was a cross-strait dialogue of life, a grand assembly in the name of love. With the most sincere emotions, it demonstrated that illness cannot sever the kinship of blood, and the Strait cannot stem the warm tide of mutual assistance between compatriots on both sides. Sheltered by love, the children from both sides of the Strait will surely have stronger wings to fly towards a brighter future.
