The sentiments and aspirations for families and country are an essential foundation for every Chinese to settle down and get on with their pursuits. In ancient times, Yue Fei's mother taught him to "serve the country faithfully", and in modern times, every mother taught their children to fulfill their duties to the family and to be loyal to the country, all reflect the fine traditions of Chinese familial culture and upbringing. By sharing stories about families, family virtues, mothers, and China, we can promote the noble family traditions and the national ethos, thereby gathering spiritual momentum for the Chinese nation.

In accordance with General Secretary Xi Jinping's latest directives on the importance of "telling stories of good family traditions," the Beijing Changier Education Foundation has organized and initiated the essay-writing activity of "Searching for Mother's Stories". This event has invited Zhang Jianbo, a director from CCTV-6, to serve as the chief technical advisor for video production, and Jiang Xiaobei, a narrator from CCTV-10's "Discovery" program, for video voiceover. You are specially invited to share an unforgettable short story about your mother from your life.

In 2024, the APEPCY Office will launch the " Telling Stories of Mothers " program and will progressively promote it, including through major media platforms and dissemination at United Nations conferences, etc. The relevant details regarding the call for essays on this theme are as follows:

1. Concept

We hope to find mothers with a profound sense of social morality, whose stories exemplify mothers as role models for society. We hope that your stories will have "authentic characters and stories with details," such as touching conversations about maternal education, memorable scenes, moments that move people, and personal journeys of growth. Everyone can tell multiple stories, with each story being told independently.

II. Submission Process

1. To submit your contribution, please send it to APEPCY Office email at xwgs@apepcy.org, and specify " Telling Stories of Mothers " in the subject line. Alternatively, you may also send the relevant materials to the APEPCY Office colleague who has been in touch with you.

2.Once the videos are reviewed and approved, the APEPCY Office will invite a professional team to film and produce them into official works, which will be released uniformly to the public.

(III) Manuscript Requirements

1. Contribution method: Submissions can be in the form of text, images, or videos. The stories can be crafted into both text and video materials for simultaneous release on new media and newspaper platforms.

2. Draft requirements: The text should prioritize the completeness and richness of the story, with each article being no more than 800 words; images should match the text and have a clear subject; videos may be recorded with mobile phones or cameras, and should be shot in landscape orientation, ensuring fluid expression and clear articulation. Each video does not exceed 2 minutes.
