On May 31, the major cinematic charity film "Changier" officially wrapped up its shooting. Lei Zhitian, Deputy Director of the Academic Committee of the Beijing Changier Education Foundation and Senior Researcher of Taihe Institute, and Xing Haiyan, Vice Chairman and Secretary General of the Beijing Changier Education Foundation, attended the wrap-up ceremony.
During the ceremony, Secretary General Xing Haiyan on behalf of Chairman Zhang Yinjun, congratulated the successful completion of the film and appreciated the hard work of the main creative team and crew involved in the film shooting. She and Deputy Director Lei Zhitian awarded the certificate of Caring Ambassador of the APEPCY to adult group actors Wang Jinsong, Xiang Neng, Wang Chunzi and the certificate of Campus Communication Ambassador of APEPCY to young actors Zhou Xiaoyi, Hang Ziyao, and Liu Sijia.
Given its charitable nature, the budget for the movie was limited. Director Xiang Kai undertook multiple roles, including directing, producing, and scriptwriting, so the workload was enormous. The effort put into the film was immense, with almost 10 versions of the script over three years, coordination of various resources, fundraising, two-month intensive filming, managing scenes with three to four extras, and numerous outdoor and night shots. Many crew members mentioned that they made it to the end because they were inspired by Director Xiang Kai's dedication and they shared the pursuit of contributing to charity. All leading actors fully embodied the profound meaning of the "Love Ambassador of the APEPCY" with their professionalism and dedication.
The film is based on numerous touching and real-life stories from APEPCY's 18-year dedication to HIV/AIDS prevention and education for adolescents. Adapted from real-life experiences, the film narrates a story of two young individuals seeking redemption and being redeemed, illustrating the dynamic relationship between individuals, growth, and society. After the wrap-up, the movie is now in the stage of post-production, which is expected to be finished by December. It is set to be released nationwide in theaters in 2024.
