According to Changier's knowledge,The 51st session of the United Nations Human Rights Council opened on September 12th (Geneva time). Affected by the epidemic, it was conducted both online and offline. As a pivotal social organization with special consultative status of the United Nations Economic and Social Council,Beijing Changier Education Foundation actively took part and presented a video speech titled “Communicate with ethnic minorities in their own languages”.
In the video speech, Chairman Zhang Yinjun introduced the achievements of Changier's work in adolescent mental health education, AIDS prevention education and sexual health education.
In minority areas, the foundation pays special attention to hiring local people to communicate with beneficiaries in their local languages. In order to popularize AIDS prevention and control knowledge in pastoral areas of Tibet, Changier funded the Tibet AIDS Prevention and Control Association to set up a working team by local volunteers. The team went from one village to another to teach relevant knowledge in local dialects and interactive ways, which made local people feel more friendly and effective. In Xinjiang, Changier used bilingual teachers and was warmly welcome by local people.
To communicate in the minority's own language is a good way to close the distance with the beneficiaries to ensure the smooth progress of the project. In the speech, Zhang Yinjun introduced Yang Chunyan team, who was responsible for Changier at Yingjiang County, Yunnan. They serve more than a dozen ethnic groups, including overseas vulnerable groups along the China-Myanmar border. For more than ten years, they have been active in remote villages in the mountains, bringing health knowledge and providing relief services to them in more than ten local languages of the two countries, which has greatly reduced the number of people infected with AIDS and drug abuse in the region.
Changier carries out whole-person "love education" with AIDS prevention, sex education, mental health education, and charity education as the core content for young people, promote love education for young people, create responsible social organizations, and give back to donors with good social influence and supporters, making love and kindness accessible to all.
