Commemorating the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japan
And the 80th Anniversary of the Victory in the World Anti-Fascist War
Preface
On September 3, 2025, a grand ceremony was solemnly held at Tiananmen Square in Beijing to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. Zhang Yinjun, President of Beijing Changier Education Foundation, attended as an honored guest and witnessed this solemn and magnificent military parade. Other members of the Beijing Changier Education Foundation gathered in the office to watch the live broadcast together, sharing in this hard-won national pride and honor.
President invited to observe ceremony, Changier
receives recognition once again
As a representative of Beijing Changier Education Foundation, President Zhang Yinjun was invited to witness the ceremony. She sat in Tiananmen Square, her mind drifting: her father had once waged guerrilla warfare in the Dabie Mountains, welcoming the advance of Liu Deng's army into the region. The revolutionary stories recounted by her father's generation filled her, a second-generation revolutionary, with immense pride in that very moment. She thought of the word "hero" and recalled General Secretary Xi Jinping's remarks on "heroes" in 2015. The Chinese nation is a nation of heroes, and the Chinese people are a heroic people. During the 14-year War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, 35 million heroic Chinese people sacrificed their blood and lives for victory. Since the victory in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, countless heroic individuals have made outstanding contributions to national prosperity and national rejuvenation through their work in ordinary positions. She quietly conveyed that this grand ceremony serves not only as a concentrated display of the nation's military might, but also as a sublime tribute to the heroic spirit. Heroes are the guardians of faith and the embodiment of responsibility. Every member of Beijing Changier Education Foundation, whether on the frontlines of AIDS prevention or in the fields of education and public welfare, must become a national hero of this era, embodying heroic spirit and achievements to serve and honor this heroic and great country and its people. She envisions the future: just like the magnificent formations and steel torrents on the parade ground, every Changier is part of the "heroic phalanx" of the new era, using love and responsibility to continue writing our national glory.
Glory forged through blood and tears, a deeply moving experience that touches the heartWhen those trembling figures struggled to rise from their seats, raising their withered right hands to their graying temples, time seemed to stand still in that moment. Their arms may no longer be steady, their posture no longer erect, yet within that solemn salute lies a power that transcends time and space, striking directly at the most tender depths of the human heart. At this moment, Zhang Yinjun was already in tears. If his father were still alive, he would be over one hundred years old. She suddenly recalled the stories her father told her as a child—about those young men who had once been carefree youths, who resolutely shouldered their rifles when the nation's very survival hung in the balance, their youth forever frozen in those smoke-filled years of war.
"This golden age is as you envisioned!" If the
heroic spirits could witness it, they would see today's China: fighter jets soar
through azure skies, no longer airspace terrorized by enemy aircraft; armored
columns thunder forward, no longer the tragic spectacle of flesh and blood
against steel; warships cut through the waves, safeguarding our vast maritime
frontiers. The cold gleam of the military equipment on parade mingles with tears
of emotion, creating a soul-stirring dialogue—where history and the present
converge in this moment, where sacrifice and legacy resonate in this
instant.
She seemed to hear echoes reverberating across time and space: the triumphant roars from the great victory at Pingxingguan, the charge bugle of the Hundred Regiments Offensive, and the clash of fierce combat from the bloody battle at Taierzhuang. Behind every piece of modern equipment stand countless figures who have faded into the dust of history; every glory of today is built upon the blood and sacrifice of yesterday. The military salutes these elders rendered with their final strength seem to form a bridge connecting a glorious past marked by hardship with today's prosperity and flourishing.
"Only through struggle can we live up to
expectations!" This is not merely a slogan, but a historical promise. When we
bask in the sunshine of peace, when we walk confidently on the world stage, we
must never forget that this dignity was bought with countless lives. The oath
"In line with the conviction that I will do whatever it takes to serve my
country even at the cost of my own life, regardless of fortune or misfortune to
mysel" - now this responsibility has been passed down to us.
Commemoration is not about dwelling on the past, but about better preparing for the future. Those trembling salutes tell us: heroes may grow old, but their spirit lives on; wars may fade into the past, but the alarm bells keep ringing. China's prosperity today is the best answer to history; China's rejuvenation tomorrow will be the greatest comfort to our martyrs. The prosperous era has come to pass as you envisioned, and we shall never betray the trust you placed in us. This is our finest dialogue with history and our greatest tribute to heroes. President Zhang, immersed in this solemn and magnificent ceremony, felt his heart surge with profound emotions and countless reflections. At this moment, the waves of history, the glory of the homeland, and personal emotions converge, bringing tears to one's eyes. That profound sense of being moved and reverence surges like rushing rivers, lingering long without subsiding.
Changier collective ceremony viewing: Love and
national spirit in resonance
Early in the morning, everyone arrived at the foundation bright and early, and the conference room atmosphere grew increasingly solemn and hushed. When the national anthem played and the five-starred red flag slowly rose, all personnel stood at attention, paying their respects to the flag with their gaze, their hearts filled with love for their motherland and reverence for the martyrs. Singing "Without the Communist Party, There Would Be No New China" in unison with the on-site choir, the stirring melody echoed throughout the conference room, each note conveying boundless loyalty and profound gratitude to the Party. During the viewing, everyone watched intently at the neat and uniform formations, advanced weapons and equipment, and fighter jets soaring through the sky, feeling immensely proud of their motherland's strength and prosperity. When General Secretary Xi Jinping reviewed the troops on parade, thunderous applause erupted in the conference room. After the military parade ceremony, the Party branch organized a discussion and exchange meeting. Party members expressed that this military parade ceremony had been deeply educational for them. Everyone unanimously agreed that heroes are not only warriors on the battlefield, but also every person who silently dedicates themselves and safeguards their homeland in ordinary positions. Countless martyrs forged the backbone of our nation with their lives, and today, we must follow in their footsteps, weaving the heroic spirit into our daily work and lives.
The September 3rd military parade was not only a grand ceremony showcasing military strength, but also a profound exercise in patriotic education. This organized viewing has ignited patriotic fervor and national pride among all Party members and employees, enhanced the cohesion and solidarity of the Party branch, channeled the spirit of the military parade into workplace motivation, and driven charitable endeavors to reach new heights. At this moment, love and the soul of the nation resonate as one. Outside the parade ground, Changier's mission resonates in harmony with the nation's aspirations. We will continue to use our "cottage + academy" model as our foundation and education as our weapon to safeguard the smiles of youth in this battle without gunfire. "Ten thousand humble homes, ten thousand blessed fields, ten thousand centers of learning, ten thousand hearts at peace" - this is our shared vision and commitment.
Poetic sentiments, united in mission
Heroes in the fight against AIDS attend the military parade as honored guests.
Fifty thousand guests, and Changier is among them.
All honors have been received, and the nation rejoices in victory.
We shall join hands and redouble our efforts.
