From May 27 to 31, Zhang Qingli, Vice Chairman of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC National Committee) and Chairman of the China Economic and Social Council, led a team to Tibet to conduct a thematic research focusing on "promoting rural revitalization in border areas." Zhang Yinjun, a member of the China Economic and Social Council, Vice Director of the Women and Children Committee of the Central Committee of the China Association for Promoting Democracy, and Chairman of the Beijing Changier Education Foundation, participated in the research activities.

The Research Team Conducted Research at the Changier Hut in Lhasa Beijing Primary School

Recently, Zhang Yinjun, a member of the China Economic and Social Council, Vice Director of the Women and Children Committee of the Central Committee of the China Association for Promoting Democracy, and Chairman of the Beijing Changier Education Foundation, returned to Beijing with a wealth of accomplishments from a productive research mission to Tibet's Nyingchi, Motuo, Lhasa, and beyond, as part of the China Economic and Social Council's research team.

The Research Team Holds A Symposium

From May 27 to 31, the research team visited places such as Nyingchi Lulang, Motuo, and Lhasa, to conduct on-site inspections at Tibet Qizheng Tibetan Medicine Co., Ltd., Tashigang Village and Dongbacai Village in Lulang Town, Gandeng Village, Gelin Village, and Motuo Village in Motuo County, and Lhasa Beijing Primary School. The research focused on the development of new Tibetan medicines, countryside construction, integration of tea and tourism, establishment of model touristic counties, and the protection of cultural heritage.

Vice Chairman Zhu Xiaodan Converses with Students from Lhasa Beijing Primary School

On the afternoon of May 31, accompanied by Yu Yungui, Vice Chairman of the Tibet regional committee of the CPPCC, research team members Zhu Xiaodan, Shu Xiaoqin, and Zhang Yinjun visited Lhasa Beijing Primary School. They toured the school's Changier Hut to learn about the school's psychological health education and ideological and political education programs. They also visited classrooms to talk with students and parents, watched performances of Tibetan dances by the students, and celebrated International Children's Day together. Jiang Yongluozhui, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Lhasa Municipal Committee of the CPPCC, Du Peng, the Standing Committee Member of Chengguan District Committee, Vice District Chief, and Director of the District Education Bureau in Lhasa, accompanied by Bian Ba, Party Branch Secretary of Lhasa Beijing Primary School, and Ou Yiqun, the Principal, participated in the research visit.

The Research Team and Teachers and Students of Lhasa Beijing Primary School

Under the guidance of national bodies such as the CPPCC National Committee and the United Front Work Department of CPC Central Committee, the Beijing Changier Education Foundation is committed to supporting the development of Tibet. It has carried out initiatives such as "Education Support for Tibet" and "Assistance for the Needy in Tibet," donating more than RMB 46.74 million in funds and materials to the region. The Foundation has established the APEPCY Work Station in Chengguan District, Lhasa, and an APEPCY base in Rikaze. In these areas, the Foundation has built Changier Huts in 52 schools (achieving full coverage in Chengguan District middle and primary schools in Lhasa), trained over 180 teachers in mental health education from Lhasa, Ngari, and Naqu, and supported 40 students in difficult situations with RMB 2,300 each. It has conducted over 450 outreach programs on AIDS prevention and sex education, benefitting more than 230,000 students, teachers, and parents. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Foundation donated 5,080 disinfection products and 55,000 protective masks, valued at over RMB 1.07 million. The launch of the APEPCY Aid Tibet charity project provides a stable platform for Tibetan youths to foster academic and personal growth, and protects their mental and physical well-being.
